Prolapsed hemorrhoids

Prolapsed hemorrhoids is a medical condition and can be defined as swollen or enlarged veins, which appear around the anus region. Prolapsed hemorrhoids is quite often characterized by major symptoms, such as itching, painful irritation, as well as mild to stern bleeding from the anus. I am having attack of IBS "irritable bowel syndrome" which is making me very "irritable" and it is painful. I have been told to go on bland diet however having hard time figuring what to eat and don't eat. also everytime i eat or drink i am having bowel issue and bloating and pain. the bloating makes me look pregnant. also suffering from tiredness and severe headache because i am not drinking any coffee.

I have often read that the best way to cure hemorrhoids is hemorrhoid surgery. This is frequently suggested by medical practitioners and laypeople alike as the most effective way to get rid of hemorrhoids.

I have studied hemorrhoids and other digestive disorders for more than 20 years and while it's true that hemorrhoid surgery can bring relief for most types of hemorrhoids - bleeding hemorrhoids, internal hemorrhoids, external hemorrhoids - it is not without it's own possible side-effects. And it is not without pain.

A hemorrhoidectomy can be an extremely painful operation. You will need pain-killers and time off work to recover. It can be a month or two before things begin to feel "normal" again.

Unfortunately, hemorrhoid surgery is not always 100% successful - I have consulted with many hemorrhoids sufferers who have had multiple operations, and have not been cured. The important factor most doctors and surgeons neglect to tell hemorrhoid sufferers is that hemorrhoid surgery is not a cure, as such - it is removing the symptom, which is the swollen vein.

If the actual cause of the hemorrhoid is not addressed, recurrences can, and often do, occur.

Hemorrhoids treatment can be external or internal or both together depending on the nature of the hemorrhoids.

What is external hemorrhoids?

External Hemorrhoids are swollen areas of skin and blood vessels around the anus. They are highly innervated and sensitive and are also at risk for thrombosis. They develop around the external opening of the anus. It is usually very painful as the skin around them is very sensitive. Most of the times, they are just bothersome protrusions, which make hygiene and personal care very difficult. Many a times external hemorrhoids develop a clot inside of them. This happens often after a period of diarrhea or constipation. In such cases, it produces a firm and painful swelling or lump around the rim of the anus.

Symptoms

1. A painful bulge or firm lump around the rim of the, which may have a blue or purple tint.2. Blood on the toilet paper after a bowel movement.The stool will be very hard or very large. Blood may also be seen on the toilet seat.

Treatment of external hemorrhoids

1. If there is only mild discomfort, the doctor may suggest over-the-counter creams, ointments or pads. These contain witch hazel or a topical anti-inflammatory agent containing hydrocortisone. In combination with daily warm baths, this treatment helps relieve your symptoms.

2. The hemorrhoids may be removed surgically or through other methods in extreme cases. Today he discovered a small lump on the opening of his anus and he is in bearable yet uncomfortable pain. Piles are a fairly common condition brought on due to dietary habits which are rich in fats and deficient in fibres. It is not a disease, but most people shy away from consulting a doctor possibly because they feel embarrassed. It is a condition if diagnosed correctly is fully curable. Though there are various medicines which promise quick relief, it is essential to address the underlying reasons for the symptoms to have occurred in the first instance.

CausesChronic constipation and bowel disorders are seen to be the primary causes of piles. However, pregnancy and certain liver conditions can also cause piles. Prolonged sitting or standing, mental stress and hereditary factors can also contribute to this condition.

Constipation besides being a contributory factor enhances the pain factor by causing irritation in the veins and consequent burning sensation. So taking laxatives is helpful. But since laxatives sold over the counter on your doctor's prescription could induce lazy colon syndrome, it would be wiser and safer to take natural laxatives such as dates and other natural foods rich in fibre which would help in passage of the stool without harmful side effects.

Vegetable RemediesRadish and turnips have also been found to be useful. Grated White Radish (100g) taken with a teaspoon of honey, or juice of radish taken twice a day helps give relief. Radish made into a paste with milk can also be applied externally. Juice made from turnip leaves when mixed with juice of carrot, spinach and watercress also alleviates symptoms.

Fresh ginger juice (half teaspoon) mixed with honey and fresh lime juice or fresh mint juice has been found to be beneficial. So also 30 grams onions crushed in water and mixed with 60 grams sugar taken twice daily helps in bleeding piles. A skinned and crushed onion roasted in ashes should be applied for dry piles. The leaves of bitter gourd are an effect home remedy too. Three teaspoons of the juice should be taken with buttermilk in the morning for fast relief. A paste made from roots of the bitter gourd can be applied externally to the piles.

Enema with Wheat Grass juice for 15 minutes helps in detoxifying the walls of the piles. An enema with lukewarm water should be followed by enema with wheat grass juice for 15 minutes. Sesame seeds too are valuable in treating piles. A decoction can be made by boiling twenty grams of seeds in 500 ml of water till it is reduced by 1/3 rd or as sweets. They are particularly useful in treatment of bleeding piles when ground into a paste and given with butter.

A very popular home remedy revolves around the herb Chebulic Myroblan. It is effective as a laxative and its astringent properties help in healing the masses. The fruit is roasted in cluster oil, powdered and stored. Half a teaspoon taken at night is effective for bowel movement. A paste is useful as an external application. Bleeding piles should be washed with the water made from boiling 10 seeds of this fruit.

internal hemorrhoid question by : Colonoscopy? Hurt or anesthesia?
Hello,

I'm 15 years old and I've blood in my stools for the past 3 weeks now. I did some research on the internet and I've come to the conclusion of anal fissure, I heard it takes a few weeks to heal only with stool softners which I didn't use for the past 3 weeks therefore its not going to help the healing. So ..I told my mum and she said she will book an appointment for me with the Doctor.

So here's my problem, what if I got diagnosed "Anal fissure" or "internal hemorrhoids" I know its not external as there is no abnormalities around my anus.

Anyway if the doctor decides he wants me to do a colonoscopy...does it hurt? I researched on what people said and they said the worst part was only the clearing of the gastric system, drinking a foul fluid and pooing every half hour or so...won't you see alot of blood if that happened.

I heard the only bit that may hurt is when they inflate your colon if you dont have twilight sedation. So If I chose to use the twilight sedation I presume I will feel no pain but drowsiness?
