I'm a weight lifter and I take weight / muscle gaining supplements 5 days a week. However my stool has been extremely hard lately to the point where when I use the bathroom, it comes out very hard and causes me to get an "anal fissure" and makes my anus bleed. I know it's not cancer or anything because I've been to the doctor years ago for the same reason (except it was due to a very poor diet, no exercise, holding it, etc.) however I exercise everyday now, drink 1 gallon of water, and eat semi healthy.

What should I do to soften it? I know they make "Benefiber" which is supposed to make you go, but does fiber also SOFTEN your stools too? Is there anything I can take naturally that'll soften my stools, like prunes or something? I do NOT want to take medical stool softeners everyday or anything or stop taking my supplements.

Having the urge to use the bathroom isn't a problem, but when it comes out rock hard and causes me to bleed, that is a very big problem.

I have a similar problem. Try a stool softener (I was going to suggest Dulcolax, but I think they may have changed their medicine, so just look for the store brand bottle with "Stool Softener" on it), but make sure you ask your doctor first. It says on the bottle to wait 2 hours before taking any other medicines. And I don't need to take it regularly, just one when I feel uncomfortable, and then in about 12 to 36 hours, it comes very easily. Good luck. :)

P.S.: I know how uncomfortable this problem is, and you really are best off taking real medicine. My doctor told me to take Miralax, but it was... overkill on my body. Your problem sounds a bit worse, so powdered fiber isn't out of the question.

about 2 months ago when i took a crap there would be light pink blood on the tissue (not a lot of blood). i just left it alone and nothing happened and it went away. everything was "normal" until yesterday morning i noticed that i have a grape-like lump on my anus. and 2day its starting to bother me. it doesn't hurt but it feels weird. im starting to get worried now, does anyone know what it could be?!
please i want serious answers
i'm healthy for the most part...i dont drink or anything like that and excersice on a daily basis....but i do love spices.

Ok I had this Problem since 2months i when to the restroom to poop i had some pain and on toilet paper Red Blood and my A.s.s is burning so i look for some symptoms and find out that it is "Hemorhoid" and now when i poop it is NOT Bleeding anymore but it still burns down there.

And i am only 19year old what can i do do i have to seen a doctor and how must would he charge if i don't have Insurance.

What can i do to remove this i did some research and find out some medicine do you think it would work

you need to have softer bowel movements so you are not straining and irritating your hemorrhoids increase your water intake increase your fiber intake like whole grains oatmeal also could buy some ticks or pre peration h for hemorrhoids also could try taking stool softener like colace it is non habit forming

First of all please no rude comments. It's already hard enough dealing with this... I need support and lack it..

I was anorexic for three years... 15-18. Suddenly after taking medication and getting a couple sessions of therapy I thought I was "cured". But when the weight started piling on and I had a heartier appetite... I began to freak out. Since then (age 18) I CANNOT stop binging and purging or exercising whatever I consumed. I've also done the whole chew and spit thing...

I am so freaked out and have no control over my life. Whenever we go out drinking I always drink too much to "forget" my problems, and I... I have no idea what to do. I DON'T want to live like this. So any rude comments please find another question to answer.

Please, any people out there have ideas how I can stop? It's ruining my life. I've turned down offers to go out with friends, I've forced myself to stop drinking, I freak when I can't exercise it off, and I spit and chew in my room almost everyday.
It's ruining my life and I hardly have any spare money to spend since I spend it all on "binge foods" where I spit and chew or binge and purge them.. :( And my friends often wonder why I'm hysterical some days and calm others. :S

However, with your internal hemorrhoid condition, the lump in the rectum could be caused by pregnancy, or after giving birth to a baby.

The symptoms of internal hemorrhoids are anal itching, pain or throbbing ache in the sensitive area, bright red blood showing up on the toilet paper and pain when having a bowel movement.

Other Symptoms

Rectal bleeding. Like external hemorrhoids, bright red spots of blood may appear on toilet paper after a bowel movement. Unlike, external hemorrhoids, blood spots may appear on toilet paper if one wipes the anus before a bowel movement and in addition, blood may appear on individual pieces of stool. Because the bleeding takes place internally, small amounts of blood may leak from the anus even in the absence of a bowel movement and there is the possibility that the stool will pick up small amounts of blood on its way out of the large intestine.

One thing some people looking for an internal hemorrhoid treatment might be tempted to do is use laxatives but they are generally not suggested by most doctors, or they are suggested in moderation.
